Joan Riera Robusté

Quick Overview

Joan Riera Robusté began his musical studies at the Conservatori Superior de Música de Barcelona and at the Aula de Música del Conservatori del Liceo, and the teacher Lluís Vergés, where he learned both classic and Jazz music, later obtaining a scholarship to study jazz composition at the Berklee College of Music. He took further studies in classical composition at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya, where he received lessons from Helmut LachenmannJohn Rahn,Walter ZimmermannRamón Lazcano, José Luís Torá, Luca CoriEduard Resina and Joao Pedro Oliveira.
In 2005 he spent one year at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique de Lyon, where he studied electroacoustic music with Robert PascalDenis Lorain,Cristophe Germanique and François Rouge. Since then, his music incorporates electroacoustic and visual resources.
Currently he is pursuing a PhD at the Universidade de Aveiro, Portugal, writing a thesis entitled “Spatial Hearing and Sound Perception in Musical Composition”.
